   Day Tour Packages:

2 Day Kuranda, Hartley's Crocodile Adventures & Low Isles
DAY 1: Your day beings with a luxury coach transfer from your accommodation to Freshwater Railway Station for a historical rail journey to Kuranda. Enjoy breathtaking views enroute, including the cane fields of Cairns to the tropical rainforest of Kuranda. Upon arrival in Kuranda, there is limited free time before boarding Skyrail at 11.30am. Relax and enjoy the world's most beautiful rainforest experience, stopping enroute to explore the two stations, including boardwalks and the CSIRO Interpretive Centre.

After arriving at Caravonica Lakes, our coach will collect you and transfer you to Hartley's Crocodile Adventures - the best place to see crocodiles in Tropical North Queensland. Join us for a unique eco experience on the lagoon cruise through the ecologically significant Melaleuca wetlands; the domain of the saltwater crocodile. Explore the rest of the park with its abundance of wildlife, including water birds, turtles, wallabies and cassowaries.

See the notorious head shake and death roll of a huge crocodile at the Crocodile Attack Show and the opportunity to hold a crocodile for a photo (own expense). Discover the world's most venomous snakes at the Snake Show before the return transfer to your accommodation.

Coach transfer from accommodation to Freshwater Station from 7:00am for Kuranda Scenic Rail departure at 8:45am. Returns approx. 5:15pm.

DAY 2: Situated 15km north-east of Port Douglas Low Isles is a 4 acre coral cay surrounded by 55 acres of reef. The corals are very close to the island, which makes snorkelling an enjoyable experience. On the island we erected permanent thatched umberellas for our passengers' comfort. Your experience can be as educational as it is relaxing - many activities are available for your participation.

The two small islands are separate with one common reef. The larger of the two, Woody Island, is uninhabited except for a large bird population. It is a vital habitat for many species.

The smaller of the Low Isles, is a coral cay with a lighthouse that has been operating since 1878. Weather data has been gathered from the island since 1887 and scientific associations date back to 1928 when it was the base for a year-long scientific survey that examined the structure and ecology of the surrounding reef. This was the first scientific study of a coral reef anywhere in the world and many current theories of coral reef ecology are based on the findings of the expedition.

Complimentary hotel pick-up from 7:00am returning approx. 6:30pm.
